So it occurred to me that mindfulness is the trend at the moment. The principles of mindfulness include:

Bringing attention to – so focusing on what’s happening inside us and outside us in this PRESENT moment.
So interestingly there has been a LOT of discussion and writings about the ego self. Eckhart Tolle says:
“Most people are so completely identified with the voice in the head—the incessant stream of involuntary and compulsive thinking and the emotions that accompany it—that we may describe them as being possessed by their mind. As long as you are completely unaware of this, you take the thinker to be who you are. This is the egoic mind. We call it egoic because there is a sense of self, of I (ego), in every thought, every memory,every interpretation, opinion, viewpoint, reaction, emotion. This is unconsciousness, spiritually speaking.” (http://www.theworkbook.org/egoic.htm)
Brene Brown refers to this as the Gremlins. It’s the voice in our head that tells us we are not good enough, not as good as someone else, not qualified or whatever it is. The Ego mind is set up to protect us. However sometimes what it vehemently protects also holds us back in life. WAY back.
So… in learning that the brain intelligence in its highest expression is Creativity (mBraining) and also that our brains hold our thoughts which is the fuel of the ego mind it occurred to me that the last thing we want is to mind FULL. What we really want is to be HEARTfull.
Our Heart intelligence is our leader. This is where our values are held, our instinct and our heart intelligence communicates 16 times more information to our head brain than our head intelligence communicates to our heart.
Focusing on our heart space in meditation can take us back to our true self within. To our centre to who we really are without the gremlins or the ego mind. That space where we find presence. This is our heart centre. Our heart leads as our brain intelligence learns to function from the hearts leadership just as our gut centre where our courage lies (the antidote to fear by the way) also responds to the leadership of the heart.
The wisdom of who we are involves our 3 intelligence centres being aligned, working as a team and this is also a gateway to taming the ego mind. The first step is awareness. Hearing that voice as a voice and not as who we really are, and not as our truth.
It is a journey of the soul. Finding our way home to our true self. There is no map except the map of intuition and following what comes to us as our next step.
